Beverly Beauchamp Shoffner, 75, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at her home in Colleyville.
Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Sunday at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors, 523 S. Main St., Grapevine, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Steven Bell. Visitation: The family will be present 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials: Flowers may be sent to the funeral home after 11 a.m. Sunday or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beverly Shoffner's name to The Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org.
Mrs. Shoffner was originally from Lawton, Okla., where she graduated from Lawton High School and attended Cameron University. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in journalism and worked initially as a writer for the Lawton Constitution. Mrs. Shoffner was a member of White's Chapel United Methodist Church and worked for several years as a volunteer at Baylor Regional Medical Center in Grapevine. She was married for 52 years to Dutch Shoffner of Ryan, Okla., a career Army officer who retired after 32 years of service to our nation.
Mrs. Shoffner was preceded in death by her parents, Price and LaHoma Beauchamp of Lawton, Okla.
Survivors: Husband; children, Al and Carron Shoffner of Fort Eustis, Va., and Andy and Kim Shoffner of Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Neta Beauchamp of Lawton, Okla.; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Charles Emley of Brenham; grandchildren, Kristin, Lauren and Austin; four sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
